Wonton Miso Ginger Soup
This Wonton Miso Ginger Soup recipe is a great alternative to the classic Maruchan Ramen packets. Do you love Ramen noodles, but feel bloated or inflamed after eating a package? Or do you feel guilty when you look at the calories and ingredients? If so, this quick and easy recipe is for you.
The star ingredients are the Chicken Cilantro Mini Wontons and Miso Ginger Broth from Trader Joe’s. All of the other ingredients are flexible, so don’t sweat it if you are missing anything. I love adding a variety of spices for extra savory flavor and eggs for extra protein. I find the eggs help me full longer.
I typically eat this comforting and delicious soup for breakfast. A great way to start the day.
Wonton Ginger Miso Soup
Ingredients
- 6 wontons Trader Joe's Chicken Cilantro Mini Wontons
- 2 cups Trader Joe's Miso Ginger Broth
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger and/or Ginger Paste
- 1 tsp Nutritional Yeast
- 1/2 tsp Trader Joe's Umami Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Trader Joe's Onion Salt
- cracked pepper to taste
- 1 or 2 eggs optional
Instructions
- Add wontons to a saucepan and add broth so they are completely submerged.
- Add spices and mix.
- Heat over medium-high heat.
- Once the broth begins to boil, turn down to medium and simmer until wontons are cooked through (about 4-minutes).
- Add the egg if using. Crack directly into the pan and whisk right away to scramble the egg into the broth similar to egg drop soup. You can scramble in a separate bowl before adding to the broth to ensure the egg is broken up.
- Continue heating until the egg is cooked (1-2 minutes).
- Enjoy!!!
